Ralph McGuigan

Rector

Ralph, our Rector, was born and educated in Edinburgh, Scotland, where he met his wife, Margaret. The family moved to South Africa with their two children, Ralph jnr and Sharon, in December 1971. Until 1987, Ralph worked for the South African Post Office, before joining the staff at St Hugh's, Newton Park in 1988 as a full-time Parish worker. He was deaconed while at St Paul's Theological College in 1990 and priested a year later. He has served as a priest in three parishes: St Katherine's , Uitehage; Sundays River and St Cuthbert's.

Eric Kleb

Assisting Priest

Eric, our Assisting Priest, like Fr Ralph, started his ministry at St Katherine's in Uitenhage and has served in various parishes, including two years on St Helena Island as rector of the oldest church in the Anglican Church of Southern Africa. In addition to parish work in East London, he was Hospital Chaplain for 12 years and was involved in Life Line and Marriage Counselling. He joined St Cuthbert's in 1999 and was made Honorary Canon in December 2006, commemorating his fifty years as a priest. He has two married sons, Clifford and Patrick.

Brenda Southey

Lay Pastor

Brenda, our Lay Worker, was born on a farm in the Richmond area of the Karoo. She was schooled at Union High and Collegiate, before going on to Barkley House College in Cape Town. She was married to James Southey in George and all three of her children, Susan, Kathy and Michael, were born there. Brenda started the first Pre-primary school in George and was principal of Walmer Pre-Primary for 20 years. She became a committed Christian in 1977 and has been a Lay Worker at St Cuthbert's since 1992. Brenda was widowed in 1985.

Jean - Pierre Flugel

Youth Pastor

J.P. , our Youth Pastor , was born in East London and was schooled at Hudson Park , Cambridge Junior and Port Rex THS. He relocated to PE in 2006 where he worked as a salesman in the hydraulic and pnuematic field. In 2008 he left the corporate world to be in full time ministry. He served at Bluewater Bay Community Church for a year and started with St Cuthbert's in Feb 2009 . J.P. has a deep passion for the spiritual well being of young people.
